Three people have been arrested on counts of methamphetamine possession in Effingham.

Effingham Police Chief Jeffrey Fuesting said the three arrested are 24-year-old Kaitlin Mahon of Watson, 21-year-old Christopher Griffith of Effingham and 26-year-old Mitchel Dunigan of Effingham.

Fuesting said city police served a search warrant on a house in the 900 block of West St. Anthony Wednesday evening and found the three inside the house. He said there was methamphetamine paraphernalia and currency found in the house believed related to the sale of narcotics.

The three made their initial court appearance on the charges Friday. Dunigan and Griffith will make their first appearances with legal counsel on May 25, while Mahon will make her first appearance with counsel on May 23.
