The Cowden-Herrick Board of Education has decided against funding sports and other extra-curricular transportation in the coming school year.

The Board reached its decision due to a lack of State funding.

The Board appoint Mike Myers their representative on the Eastern Illinois Area Special Education Governing Board; retained Junior Carsisle as bus mechanic for the coming school year; accepted resignations from Consuela Lorton and Sheila Moore as junior high track coaches; hired Aaron Nohren for summer maintenance help at $9/hour for 27 hours per week for six weeks; and increased the hours of Leroy Shallenbarger and Madonna Shellenbarger to 40 hours per week for summer maintenance help for six weeks.
