The Lake Land College Board of Trustees Monday approved three-year contract agreements with faculty and paraprofessionals.

The agreement with the Lake Land College Faculty Association begins August 18 and includes a 1% pay raise in each of the three years.

The agreement with the Lake Land College Paraprofessional Association will be effective July 1 and includes a 2% pay raise in each of the three years.

In each of the agreements, there is a provision for a formula that would mean more money for faculty members and paraprofessionals should the college receive additional State funding.

In the Paraprofessionals agreement, there is also language that those earning the lowest rates of pay get higher increases in each of the first two years of the agreement.

Lake Land trustees also discussed revising board policy concerning retirement provisions for faculty and other employees. Under the change, any new employees or a person who resigns and then returns to the college will not be eligible for the college's planned retirement program. It's designed to be a cost-saver for the college.

The Board also approved the reappointment and extension of probationary period for one additional academic year for IT Instructor James Munger. The move replaces an earlier decision in March not to reappoint Munger.
