One person was injured Thursday afternoon in a chain-reaction crash on South Banker.

City police were called just after 3:30pm to the 1500 block of South Banker when a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Daniel Stanford of Shelbyville rear-ended a vehicle driven by 59-year-old David Mesnard of Edgewood, causing Mesnard's vehicle to rear-end a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Macci Lock of Effingham.

A passenger in Mesnard's vehicle, 17-year-old Devan Pontious of Effingham, was injured and was taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Stanford was cited for following too closely.
