Brownstown Man Dies in Crash Tuesday

A Brownstown man has died following a crash Tuesday night.

Dead is 69-year-old Kenneth W. Eckhardt, who was driving in a rural area three miles northeast of Bluff City when his car ran off the roadway to the right. Authorities say that could have been due to a medical condition. The vehicle continued east in the right ditch until striking a utility pole.

Eckhardt was taken to Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia where he died of injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash occurred at 7:43pm.
