North Clay school board members Monday reorganized for the next term following the April election.

Four members elected in April were sworn in to new terms. Recognition was given departing board members Cecil Cochran, Ryan Ballard and Kim Adair for their years of service.

The Board chose its officers, including Chris Bible as president, Jenny McKinney as vice president, and Jonathan Carroll as secretary.

In regular business, the North Clay board approved a summer school program and dual credit class options, and approved a summer high school baseball program.

The Board expelled a student until the beginning of the second semester of next school year, and a resignation was accepted from Jason Lewis effective April 27 as transportation secretary, athletic director and junior high basketball coach, and effective at the end of the school year as high school assistant baseball coach. Lewis is heading to Effingham Unit 40 for the coming school year as transportation secretary, succeeding the retiring Tonna Percival.

The Board also approved a leave of absence without pay for bus driver Steve Stortzum.
