Teutopolis village board members Wednesday annexed several parcels of property into the village.

Properties including Farmweld, Schmitt Auction Service, Meyer Repair and storage units south of US 40 but north of the railroad tracks were among those annexed.

The Board also got an update from Luke Easton of South Central Illinois Regional Planning and Development Commission on development of a Tax Increment Financing District. The TIF District will include the parcels annexed Wednesday night along with the tract of land recently acquired that will be developed with residences, property in the Siemer Milling complex, and the new business park on the west edge of the village. Easton estimated that final action on the District could come in August.

The Board also voted to amend the ordinance regarding sidewalks in subdivisions. There are now some sidewalks leading to nowhere required under the former guideline; now, if you are developing three or fewer lots, you will not be required to put in sidewalks.
