Beecher City Native Ohnesorge Next Principal at Marion High School

Beecher City native Joey Ohnesorge Tuesday was hired as the next principal of Marion High School.

Ohnesorge is currently in his second year as principal at Johnston City High School, just north of Marion. He will begin his new duties on July 1. He will replace Jacob Davis.

Ohnesorge received his master's degree in educational administration from Eastern Illinois University, after obtaining his bachelor's degree in physical education with a concentration in health education and driver's education from Illinois State University.

Ohnesorge is a 1984 Beecher City High School graduate. He taught in the Altamont school district and coached basketball and baseball. He was also St. Anthony High School baseball coach for seven seasons. He was also baseball coach at Putnam County and worked as assistant principal at Chatham Glenwood High School.

He is the son of George and Dee Ohnesorge of Beecher City.
