Two people were injured in a Fayette County crash Wednesday morning.

State Police report a car driven by 48-year-old Sirena Cohen of Springfield, Ohio was traveling on I-70 westbound, a half-mile west of St. Elmo, when the accident occurred. Police say Cohen's car was traveling in the passing lane when it veered into the driving lane, striking an unknown tractor trailer rig in the rear driver side of the trailer. The car went off the roadway to the left into the center median, traveling up the eastbound side of the median and then back to the westbound side where the car overturned, landing on its wheels facing eastbound.

Cohen and a 14-year-old female passenger from St. Louis were both injured. Both were airlifted from the scene, Cohen to Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, and the 14-year-old to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis.

No word on whether any citations were issued.
