An Effingham man has been given prison time after violating his probation.

61-year-old Leonard Livingston had been placed on 30 months probation and 180 days in Effingham County Jail after pleading guilty last October to a count of aggravated assault of a peace officer.

Livingston was cited for a probation violation one month later. He admitted the violation in court in February.

Livingston was sentenced by Judge Kimberly Koester April 6 to 18 months in prison for the violation.
