Effingham paused this morning, on the 11th hour, of the 11 day of the 11th month, to celebrate and remember those veterans that have served past and present.

American Legion Post 120 Commander Chris Thies (pictured above) delivered the Commander's Address to a large crowd gathered on the lawn of the old courthouse in downtown Effingham, the site of the new war memorial. Reverend Drew Holloway delivered the Invocation (pictured below), and Nicole Shoffstall sang a rousing version of The Star Spangled Banner. John Burford followed as the speaker for the program.
