Effingham Unit 40 school board members Monday acted on a number of personnel matters.

The Board transferred teacher Kami Hefner from a Kindergarten classroom teacher position at the Early Learning Center to a Title I teacher post, and transferred Kathy Lybarger from a first grade teacher position at South Side School to an Art and PE teacher post.

Board members accepted the resignation of Tammy Meinhart as a mentor facilitator, and accepted the retirement of Vivian Cain as a bus aide as of the end of the school year.

The Board hired Tammy Yingst as a three-hour cook at the high school, and approved a leave for Lori West and the extension of a leave for custodian Roland O'Leary.

The school board also expelled a student through the end of the 2017-18 school year, and purchased an insurance rider for equipment that will be on District property during health and life safety improvements planned at the high school and at Central School. The rider from Builders Risk will cost $6,899.

Board member Todd Schaefer was not present for Monday's meeting.
