Teutopolis village board members Wednesday decided to move ahead with acquisition of a tract of property with a goal of residential development on the site.

The purchase would be from the Schleper family once the acquisition is finalized. The land is on the southeast side of the village. The purchase price is still to be finalized.

The Teutopolis board agreed to a request from Kevin Roepke to install a septic system along property he'd like to develop on West Water Street. Roepke said the site is too far from sanitary sewer service.

The Board also heard from Greg Gillispie, who thanked village officials for letting him use the incubator facility to start up his business over the past year. Gillispie also asked for another year of use of the facility, and the Board granted the request.

Board members also met in closed session to review salaries. In open session, the Board approved pay increases for all affected employees. The employees are still being notified of what increase they received.
