Effingham Junior High School Principal Bill Myers is headed for an administrative position in Beardstown.

Myers, who had earlier announced his resignation at EJHS as of June 30, will become junior high and high school principal at Beardstown. He will begin his duties July 1.

Myers said it's a Grades 5-12 position. He said Beardstown is a diverse area with 15 different languages to address.

Myers has been at EJHS for five years. He's an Effingham High School graduate.

Unit 40 is in the process of interviewing for both Myers' successor and for an assistant junior high school principal. Kurt Roberts, the current assistant, will take over as principal of Effingham High School this fall as Jason Fox moves to the assistant superintendent's job with the retirement of Rem Woodruff.
