Two men are being sought for a robbery Sunday afternoon at a local jewelry store.

Effingham police were called to Kay Jewelers on Ford Avenue after what Effingham Police Chief Jeff Fuesting termed a "snatch-and-grab" occurred.

Fuesting said the suspects asked a store clerk to look at some items and, after the items were placed on the counter, the pair grabbed the items and fled out the door. They left the scene in a dark-colored vehicle bearing Missouri plates.

Fuesting said no threats were made and no weapons were displayed.

City police say the items taken, two bridal sets, are valued at $10,700.
