A Nokomis man was injured during the noon hour Thursday on the Ramsey Road in Fayette County.

State police report 30-year-old Zachariah Cachera was driving a two-axle fuel tanker truck on the rural road about three miles east of Ramsey, traveling through the curves in the roadway, when his truck began to skid out of control on the wet pavement. The truck traveled off the roadway to the right, striking the ditch and then overturning and striking several trees before coming to a stop.

Cachera was taken by ambulance to Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.

An investigation into the crash continues, with no decision yet on whether charges will be filed.
