Fire did damage to a warehouse used by Trigg Flooring Tuesday evening.

Effingham firefighters got the call around 5:30pm to the warehouse located along the CN railroad tracks at the intersection of St. Anthony Avenue and Front Street downtown. Effingham Fire Chief Joe Holomy said the fire was the result of an electrical short at the base of the building on the east side. The fire burned up the east wall to the top of the structure. One fire crew used the ladder truck to take a saw and cut into the roof to make sure the fire was extinguished.

No one was injured. Fire crews were on scene for over an hour. Effingham city police assisted at the scene.
