Teutopolis village board members Wednesday moved ahead with efforts to gain a Tax Increment Financing district.

The Board passed a resolution providing for a feasibility study on whether a portion of the village could be designated a redevelopment area. If a redevelopment area can be determined, work could move ahead on how TIF monies could be used for improvements.

The proposed area includes the east end of the village in the area of Farmweld, the area in the southeast part of town village officials hope to make a residential subdivision, and the area on the west end of town including the business park where McMahon Meats is located.

The Board also approved changes in health care coverage for village employees. The employees will still be covered by Blue Cross, but under a different option to cut costs. The Board also agreed to pay village employees double time when they are called out on holidays.

Board members also heard that Baby Huey Recycling will be back in the village. The visit will be on Saturday, April 8, from 8am to noon at the maintenance building. A list of what items will be accepted will soon be published on the village website.
