Injury Crash at Banker and Elm Tuesday

Effingham city police investigated an injury crash at Banker and Elm Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened at 3:11pm when a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Autumn Placek of Effingham rear-ended a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Andrea Glover of Effingham.

Placek was injured, but refused treatment. Placek was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.

City police are investigating the theft of an undetermined amount of cash from two video gaming machines. The machines, owned by Prairie State Gaming of Effingham, are located at TA Truckstop at 1702 West Evergreen. The incident occurred between 6:22 and 6:35 Monday morning.

Police are also investigating criminal damage to property at a residence in the 400 block of North Merchant. A window screen was damaged during the incident, which occurred sometime between 6:30pm and 9pm Monday.
