Altamont school board members acted on a variety of items at their work weekend.

The Board discussed a renovation of the Altamont Grade School playground, but tabled the matter to the March meeting, and approved for first reading a policy change that any part-time or non-public student including home-schooled students are not eligible to participate in extra-curricular activities. A separate later vote would be needed to adopt the policy change.

The Board approved Kacy Perry as junior high cheer coach for the coming school year, accepted the resignations of Jenna Murray as junior high cheer coach and Jay Koester as 8th grade boys basketball coach, approved increases in officials fees to $75 for high school girls basketball and to $50 for junior high softball, and approved registration fees for the coming school year with no change from this year's fees.

Altamont board members also discussed the proposed budget for the coming fiscal year; reviewed Board goal setting linked to the strategic plan, the mission statement, and the vision statement; and approved junior high boys and girls track cooperative agreements with Altamont Lutheran Interparish School through the 2018-19 school year.
