The Effingham City Plan Commission approved a site plan for a medical office building.

The building will be located with an existing facility northwest across Temple Avenue from HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital. The buildings will officially be located at 900 and 904 West Temple.

The Commission also voted to recommend approval of a subdivision plat of the development property.

Commission members also approved a site plan of Beckman Storage Units to be located on property at 2304 Hoffman Drive. Three buildings are to be built in two phases. The Beckmans are purchasing the property from Effingham Bible Church.

The Commission also recommended the issuance of a special-use permit to allow the mini-warehouses in a light industrial zoning district.

Also approved by the Commission was a site plan for an expansion at Goeckner Brothers at 600 East Fayette. City officials said the dealership is planning to add on to the west side of the building.

A fourth site plan was approved for Dieterich Bank, which plans to construct an outdoor ATM outside their corporate headquarters at 300 Sur's Woods Drive.

The Plan Commission also recommended the City vacate a portion of Vulcan Drive on the city's south end. The portion of street is part of the Diel and Diel Properties development, but was never vacated.
