Friday night's Teutopolis boys basketball game at Lincoln was canceled after the Teutopolis team bus was involved in a crash on the way to the game.

The crash occurred about 3:30pm on Illinois Route 32 at the Bruce-Findlay Road at Lake Shelbyville. Teutopolis Athletic Director Mike Wilson said a van pulled onto the highway into the path of the bus. Bus driver Rob Bothwell tried to avoid the other vehicle, but could not, and the impact caused the bus to overturn on its side and skid to a stop.

Seven people on the bus, a combination of players and cheerleaders, were taken to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County for observation, but the injuries initially did not appear serious.

Officials were waiting to see how the team responded Saturday before deciding whether the Wooden Shoes would play in the Teutopolis Shootout Saturday night.
