The Effingham Park Board Wednesday agreed to sell up to $500,000 in bonds at the February meeting.

Park District Director Jeff Althoff said the lion's share of the revenue generated will cover the debt certificate fees on the Workman Sports and Wellness Complex. Any remaining revenue will be used on projects elsewhere in the park district.

The Park Board learned that memberships at the Workman Complex have risen to 1,862 from the 540 in place from Get Fit Family Fitness in February 2016. The memberships translate to 5,755 members.

Rink Management officials that oversee the Workman Complex also confirm that the complex is now $30,000 in the black.

The Park Board also approved 3% pay increases for the Park District's eight fulltime and three part-time employees. Summer employees are considered separately.
