A Kinmundy man was injured in a Tuesday morning crash.

The crash happened at 5:45am on I-57 southbound, a mile south of the Kinmundy interchange. State police report a car driven by 24-year-old Joshua Daugherty was traveling at what was termed a "very high rate of speed." The car ran off the road to the left, crossed the center median and both northbound lanes of traffic. The car then went off the interstate to the east and traveled down into the northbound ditch where it struck several trees before coming to a stop.

Daugherty was taken to Salem Township Hospital. He was cited for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash, and reckless driving.
