One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash Monday morning in Jasper County.

State police report a car driven by 67-year-old Philip Pankey of Lowell, Indiana was stopped on Illinois Route 130 watiing to turn left onto the Ste. Marie Spur. A car driven by a 16-year-old from Newton was stopped behind Pankey, but a pickup truck driven by a 16-year-old from Sumner failed to stop in time and rear-ended the Newton youth's car, which pushed that vehicle into the rear of the Pankey vehicle.

The 16-year-old driver from Newton was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Police on scene termed the injuries minor.

The 16-year-old from Sumner was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash, and for violating a graduated driver's license by having too many passengers in the vehicle.
