City: Here's Your Sign

The City of Effingham has noticed several advertising signs between City streets and sidewalks. The City would like to remind everyone that signs used for advertising are prohibited within the City right of way.

City officials asked you to help the City clean up the streets and increase motor vehicle safety by removing your signs by the end of the year.

The City will begin removing all illegal signs on January 3, 2017. For those who wish to recover their signs, they will be placed between City Hall and the Police Department. Signs not recovered by the close of business on Fridays will be disposed of by the City.

Please note all permissible signs require a permit through the Building Official’s Office at 201 East Jefferson Avenue or by calling (217) 342-5300.
