A Shelbyville man has been sentenced to three years in prison for aggravated domestic battery.

Joshua Cobb must serve at least 85% of his sentence.

Two deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to a residence in Windsor December 5 for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, the deputies spoke with Crystal Cobb, who stated that she and her husband, Joshua Cobb, had been having a verbal argument. The deputies observed red marks on the upper left side of Crystal Cobb's chest and said she would not say how the marks got there.

Joshua Cobb was also questioned and said the argument was verbal only. A witness at the scene stated she observed the Cobbs fighting over his telephone and that Joshua Cobb put his arm around Crystal Cobb's neck and started choking her to the point that she was gasping for air. That led deputies to arrest Joshua Cobb.
