An Effingham woman was injured in an early morning Wednesday crash in Clark County.

The crash happened on I-70 Eastbound near Martinsville just before 1am. State police reported that the driver of a SUV, 34-year-old Kasey Iffert of Noble, became ill. As Iffert pulled the vehicle onto the shoulder of the roadway, she lost control of the vehicle. The unit then ran into a drainage ditch, where it overturned.

One of the passengers, 48-year-old Barbara Staser of Effingham, was injured in the incident. Staser was transported to Union Hospital in Terre Haute for treatment of what authorities termed minor injuries.

Iffert was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
