(ONE OF THE WORKS BY LOCAL ARTIST SARA JOHNSON ON DISPLAY AT EFFINGHAM PUBLIC LIBRARY)

The works of local artist Sara Johnson are now on display at Effingham Public Library. Johnson’s show in the Library’s Art Gallery will be available to the public until Friday, Jan. 13, 2017.

Art has been a part of Johnson’s life from the beginning. As a student, Sara describes herself as “definitely one of those kids who filled every square inch of the space between school notes with doodles!” A graduate of McKendree University with a degree in Math and Fine Arts, Sara has a Masters Degree in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis.

The combination of this background has given her work its sense of style which she describes as “simple and clean, with a focus on geometry.” Current art projects for Sara include some painting, some graphic art, photography and tattoo design.

Since most of Sara’s art is done by commission or as gifts, this is her first show.
