Neoga school board members have approved a new contract with members of the Neoga Education Association.

Neoga teachers had approved the agreement earlier.

Neoga Superintendent Beth Pressler said the one-year agreement allows teachers to regain two steps they'd lost on the salary schedule after a three-year freeze. The contract also allows those who have completed additional coursework to benefit on the salary schedule.

Once the contract was ratified, the Board approved salary and benefit increases for support and administrative staff members. Those individuals received lump sum benefits rather than percentage increases.

Pressler said this marked the second consecutive year for a balanced budget for the Neoga district.

Neoga board members also approved an application for school technology funds from a revolving loan program and worked on the brochure to be distributed by the Illinois Association of School Boards to prospective superintendents. The new superintendent would take over after Pressler completes her duties this school year. She has worked as acting superintendent the past two years.
