Ramey Makes Initial Court Appearance

The man accused of assaulting and murdering an eight-year-old Olney girl made his initial court appearance in the matter Tuesday afternoon.

53-year-old Glenn Ramey of Olney is charged with first degree murder and predatory criminal sexual assault in the November 23 death of Sabrina Stauffenberg. This initial appearance was to make Ramey aware of the charges he faces.

Ramey was found to be indigent so Conflicts Public Defender James Lane was appointed to represent him in the case.

A preliminary hearing for Ramey was scheduled for December 16 at 10:30am.

Ramey remains in Richland County Jail under $10 million bond, meaning he would need to post $1 million cash to be released.
