Two Injured When Car Hits Deer

Two people were injured when the car in which they were traveling struck a deer.

The incident happened at 7:52pm Monday on Illinois 33, just west of 1950th Street in St. Francis Township.

Effingham County sheriff's deputies report a car driven by 27-year-old Jill Beebe of Effingham was headed west on the highway when it struck the deer. Beebe and her 10-year-old passenger, Daliney Appel of Effingham, were injured and were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

No citations were issued.
