Today was the first day for people to file for election to the Teutopolis Village Board.

The filing period is different for Teutopolis Village Board than other governmental entities as candidates run on a non-partisan basis and since they file their petitions with the village clerk.

Petitions will be accepted today, Tuesday and Wednesday, and then next Monday, November 28. Petitions will not be accepted this Thursday and Friday due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

If necessary, a primary election would take place on February 28. The general election will be held on April 4.

Teutopolis residents will be electing their village board president and three village trustees.

For more information, phone Village Clerk Sharon Will at 857-3543.
