The Effingham Water Authority Board has approved the transfer of the Lake Sara Beach lease to Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation.

Tom Ryan, who has held the lease, and Water Authority Attorney Tony Siemer spoke to the transfer at this week's Water Authority Board meeting. The Board agreed to have Ryan work with Siemer on the transfer, then approved the transfer to the Foundation for eventual transfer of the lease to the Water Authority.

Scott Kaufmann and Lloyd Wood addressed the Board requesting approval of a slight change in a property line to enable Kaufmann to add a seawall without interfering with the Wood property. Kaufmann and Wood are in agreement on the change. Kaufmann will supply the Water Authority a copy of the plat, including square footage. The Board approved the new property line.

Kevin Patton addressed the Board regarding the GPS coordinates of the fish habitats recently introduced at Lake Sara. The Water Authority Board at this point does not have the GPS coordinates.

Trustee Rob Brown asked for a possible change in tent camping at a residence to be included on the January meeting agenda, the audit of the past fiscal year was reviewed with a vote to accept the audit expected in January, and the Board presented a retirement gift of recognition and appreciation to Betty Logan, who is retiring after 40 years' service to the Water Authority.
