Marriott Hotel Phone Scam

We've heard from a couple of listeners who received scam phone calls regarding a free stay at a Marriott Hotel.

What was unusual was that the scammers used a local cell phone prefix of "690". That led one listeners to phone the number back. A local resident answered who said it wasn't him who called.

That led to more investigation by the listener, who phoned the Marriott toll-free number online and heard that it indeed is a scam. The listener also phoned Effingham City Police who encouraged the listener...and you too...to just hang up and to never give out personal information.
