Mattoon Youth Arrested on Stolen Vehicle, Arson Charges

A Mattoon youth has been arrested on a series of charges including possession of a stolen vehicle and aggravated arson.

19-year-old Kaden R. Deadman was arrested Friday evening. He is accused of stealing a truck in Mattoon and burning it in Charleston, then stealing another truck in Charleston and burning it in Mattoon, then stealing a third vehicle in Mattoon and fleeing from Illinois State Police prior to crashing that vehicle and being taken into custody.

In addition to possession of a stolen vehicle, and aggravated arson, Deadman arrested on counts of aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, and DUI.

Deadmon was taken to Coles County Safety and Detention Center in Charleston.
