Two Killed in Lawrence County Crash

Two people were killed in a head-on crash in Lawrence County over the weekend.

State police say a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Jennifer Thompson of Flat Rock crossed the center of the unlined roadway and collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by 31-year-old Blake Parker of Flat Rock. The collision caused the Thompson vehicle to slide off the road into a ditch and caused the Parker vehicle to overturn, coming to rest on the driver's side. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Lawrence County Coroner Shannon Steffey.

The crash happened at 4:34pm Saturday near a rural intersection.
