The Effingham City Plan Commission has recommended allowing a relocatable home to be located in a M-1 light industrial district.

The change is being recommended to accommodate the Clayton Homes development to be located along East US 40 between Effingham and Teutopolis. A sales location for Clayton Homes will be developed there, and the owners would like to use one of the relocatable homes as their sales office. The change would allow a home to be used.

The Commission also recommended the City Council grant a special use permit to Stephens Development to place the relocatable home to be used as the sales office for Clayton Homes.

The Plan Commission also recommended the Council approve a plat for Ruth Jennings Trust Subdivision. The property involved is west of the Jennings home on East Evergreen and could become the site of a home.
