The 2016 Effingham Community Veterans Day ceremony will take place Friday morning.

The ceremony will begin at 10:30am at the Effingham County Courthouse Lawn Memorial. This year's ceremony will be hosted by Disabled American Veterans Chapter 7 and Ladies Auxiliary Unit 7.

DAV Commander Dave Althoff will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Rev. Ted Gall will offer the invocation and deliver the benediction. The National Guard will raise the colors and Pat and Julie Zuber will sing the National Anthem.

The guest speaker will be US Navy veteran Missy Koester, and the St. Anthony High School Band, under the direction of Christy Cyrus, will present patriotic music.

Following Rev. Gall's benediction, Sgt. at Arms Bill Copple will lead the 21-gun salute and Ben Rudolphi will present "Taps".
