Braden New Resident Circuit Judge, Robbins New State's Attorney in Cumberland County

Jonathan Braden will be moving from the state's attorney's office to the resident circuit judge's office in Cumberland County as of the end of the month.

Braden was elected judge Tuesday, defeating John Barger, 3,696 to 1,787. Braden will succeed the retiring Millard Everhart as resident circuit judge. Everhart also made the transition from state's attorney to judge.

Meanwhile, Braden will be succeeded as state's attorney by Bryan Robbins. Robbins defeated Todd Reardon, 4,073 to 1,360.

There will also be a change in the county coroner's office in Cumberland County. Steven Sherwood defeated incumbent Chuck Layton, 3,001 to 2,398.

Voter turnout in Cumberland County Tuesday was close to 71%, 5,620 of 7,930 registered.
