Blake, Miller Win in Jasper County

Jamie Blake and Chad Miller were winners of countywide races in Jasper County on Tuesday.

Blake was re-elected as circuit clerk, defeating Ami Smithenry 3,743 to 1,303.

Miller defeated Dylan Hartigan in the race for state's attorney, 3,665 to 1,379.

There were two contested county board races. Arthus Pickens and Michael Steven Hall were elected from District 2, receiving 1,324 and 1,038 votes respectively while Ronnie Diel received 807 votes. Jason Warfel and Doug Weddel were elected from District 3, receiving 970 and 870 votes respectively while Calvin Wilson received 454 votes.

Turnout Tuesday was great in Jasper County, with 5,229 votes cast of 6,912 registered, or 75.65% of those registered.
