Burglary, Vandalism at Hendelmeyer Park

Effingham city police are investigating an incident of burglary and vandalism at Hendelmeyer Park.

The burglary from a storage shed occurred sometime between 4pm Sunday and 8:15am Monday.

Police say white chalk spray paint was stolen, and was then used to spray random graffiti on trees, electrical posts, a tennis court backdrop, a softball dugout and the press box.

Park District officials are still determining the value of the damage done.
