Saturday is Last Day for Yard Waste Disposal This Year in Teutopolis; Reminder of Guidelines on Disposing of Items

Saturday, November 5 from 8am to noon will be the last day for Teutopolis residents to dispose of yard waste at the Maintenance Building site until April 2017.

The site will not be open the third Saturday in November, due to schedule conflicts.

A recycling reminder, too, from Teutopolis village officials for anyone who recyles at the recycling center in Teutopolis:

Please do not put plastic bags of any kind, trash bags containing garbage or anything else that is not recyclable plastic in the plastics container. Remove lids and deposit in the barrel by the bin.

The site is experiencing persons dumping trash, plastic bags and paper in the plastic bin. It is clearly marked "plastics only". Volunteers must remove all of this from the dumpster, which takes extra time. It's not pleasant removing someone else's garbage. You can put plastic sacks and paper inside the paper depot in the correct containers.

Organizers say if you use the site, please follow the guidelines so the site stays clean and the recycling center can remain open.
