The caps and lids collected for the Harmony Playground project were delivered Thursday in exchange for park benches to be used at the playground.

Organizer Daniel Drake said they traded over the minimum of 3,200 pounds of caps and lids in Evansville, Indiana for eight benches to be used at Harmony Playground, a play area accessible to everyone. The playground will be located northwest of Workman Sports and Wellness Complex.

Now, the work continues to raise funds to finance the playground so that it can be built this next year.

A bench will be on display at the Halloween in Evergreen event the Effingham Park District has planned for Saturday evening, October 29 at Evergreen Hollow.
