Watson Fire Protection District responded to a fire at 17815 E. 700th Avenue Sunday at 6:45 p.m. Upon arrival the structure was fully involved with flames through the roof.

No one was home at the time the fire started. An investigation was completed Monday and it was determined to be electrical in nature. The home, owned by Roger Verdeyen, was a complete loss with estimated cost undetermined at this time.

Watson pulled a full still through the MABAS 54 box alarm system and that brought in Shumway Fire, Dieterich Fire, Edgewood Fire and Farina Fire departments to the scene. Teutopolis and Altamont fire departments covered Watson's Station in case of other calls. They were on the scene for three hours before cleaning. No injuries and no other structures were involved.
