Clay County Board Acts on Transportation Projects

Clay County board members Tuesday approved action on several transportation improvement projects.

The Board approved engineering work on replacement of a bridge over Flat Branch Creek carrying Jasper Road in Hoosier Township. They also approved a bridge aid petition in Clay City Township carrying Angling Road over a drainage ditch. 

Board members amended the County's fiscal year budget and reviewed a proposed budget for the fiscal year beginning December 1. Property casualty and workers comp insurance coverage was also approved. There was some discussion of a travel reimbursement ordinance, but action on the measure was tabled until the November meeting.

The Clay board discussed and then approved a cost study contract. Research will be done to see whether the County needs to increase Court Security fees to cover expenses.
