Students Evacuated from Central School; Smoke is from Sewer Test, No Fire

Students and faculty were evacuated from Central School this morning when smoke was spotted in the building.

The smoke came from tests the City is having run on sewer lines in the south part of town. Central's sewer service is connected to those lines.

School officials evacuated the building and firefighters reset the alarm panel and used fans and other equipment to clear smoke from the building. Students were back inside the classrooms by 10:20am.
