Whether you want to hang some fuzzy dice from your rearview mirror is up to you, but Effingham is holding a Cruise Night downtown on Friday night, and you're invited.

The night will mark the return of two-way traffic (for one night) on Jefferson Avenue in the downtown area. The cruise route will begin around Martin's IGA, and head east on Jefferson to the old Courthouse, then back west on Jefferson to Martin's IGA. That means Jefferson will feature two-way traffic for that night from Martin's to the old Courthouse. Cruisers headed east will have the option of going around the Courthouse to get back to Jefferson, or you can take Washington all the way west to the railroad and get back on Jefferson there.

The two-way travel on Jefferson will last from 6 to 10pm. Some side streets will be closed to facilitate the evening's activities.

There will be some special attractions downtown Friday evening; live music by the Jed Adam Band, and food including a special treat: Fisher's Hi-Boy's being served on the Courthouse square while supplies last.
