Four people were injured in a crash near Beecher City Sunday evening.

Effingham County Sheriff's Deputies say the crash occurred at 6:42pm on Illinois Route 33 west of 300th Street in Liberty Township.

Deputies report a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Phillip Kollinger of Minooka signaled to turn off the highway into a private drive, but a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Jarred Hicks of Shelbyville struck the Kollinger vehicle from behind. The vehicles traveled another 75 feet before coming to a stop.

Hicks and Kollinger were both injured, as were two passengers in the Kollinger vehicle, 19-year-old Morgan Kramer of Farina and 17-year-old Alisa Miller of Lakewood. All four were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Hicks was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
