Teutopolis village board members have moved ahead with an application for grant funding. The revenue would help pay for water main replacement work in the south part of the village.

Following a public hearing on the request, the Board voted to seek $760,669 for the cast iron water main replacement project. If the grant funding is approved, the Village would contribute $310,669 toward the project.

The village board also voted to approve the tax levy for the new fiscal year. The total levy is for $315,215. The Board also abated the water bond tax levy for the year. If not, the Village would have sought $128,251 toward the cost of the water transmission line from Newton.

The Board discussed but then tabled a vote on a codification ordinance, which would have approved work to put all of the village's ordinances and resolutions into a more readily-accessible format.
